What therapy can feel like

Understanding first. Skills that make sense next.

Client-centered

Your values, experiences, goals, and pace help guide the work. Therapy is something done with you, not to you.

Clear & educational

Psychoeducation helps put language to what you are experiencing so confusing patterns can become easier to understand.

Flexible & practical

Heather draws from a wide range of therapeutic approaches to find tools that fit the person—not the other way around.

Common questions

A few things to know.

Who can work with Heather?

Heather sees children beginning at age 5, teenagers, adults, families, and couples.

What is a first session like for an adult?

Your first session begins with a warm introduction and a biopsychosocial assessment—a conversation about your experiences, current concerns, strengths, and support system. You and Heather will discuss what brought you to therapy, identify your goals, and create a collaborative treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

What is a first session like for a child?

A caregiver is typically present during a child’s first session to share background information and help the child feel comfortable. Like an adult intake, the session includes a warm introduction, an age-appropriate assessment, a conversation about goals and concerns, and the beginning of a collaborative treatment plan. Future sessions will be shaped by the child’s comfort and maturity and may include a mix of individual and family sessions.

Do you prescribe medication?

Heather does not prescribe medication. For in-person clients who use medication as part of their treatment, she can help coordinate medication-management services as part of their overall care.

How frequently would we meet?

Sessions are typically held weekly. The schedule may change over time based on your individual needs, goals, progress, and treatment plan.

Can I bring my children to my appointment?

Yes—children are very welcome. They must remain with and under the supervision of the client at all times. Having a child present can naturally create occasional distractions or make it harder to speak privately, so you may want to consider what will help you feel comfortable and make the best use of your session.

Are sensory and comfort items available?

Yes. The office includes a variety of supports that clients may use, including fidget toys, coloring books, visual stimulation, low-lighting options, blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, drinks, snacks, a drawing board, tactile grounding tools, and a sound machine. You are welcome to use what helps you feel more comfortable and settled.

Do you offer family sessions?

Yes. Heather offers family sessions and may also incorporate family sessions into a child’s treatment when they support the child’s goals and needs.

Do you offer couples therapy?

Yes. Heather offers couples therapy tailored to the relationship’s concerns, goals, strengths, and circumstances.

Are evening, night, or weekend appointments available?

Yes. Heather offers evening, nighttime, and weekend appointments by request. Contact her to ask about current openings.

Where are in-person sessions held?

In-person appointments are held at a location in Moss Point, Mississippi. The specific address is shared during scheduling.

Can I meet with Heather online?

Yes. Virtual therapy is available to clients who are located in Mississippi at the time of the session.

Do you accept insurance or offer a sliding scale?

Heather accepts most insurance plans other than TRICARE. Because coverage varies, contact her directly to verify your plan and benefits. A sliding-scale fee may also be available upon request and based on financial need.
